Rescue Technician – General Requirement
Purpose
The purpose of this program is to
identify emergency service personnel who demonstrate competency in the
performance requirements necessary to perform the duties of a rescue
technician. The NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional
Qualifications Professional Qualifications identifies the minimum
requirements for a person to be certified at multiple levels within the
1006 standard. The General Requirements outline the entrance
requirements that an individual needs to be certified at prior to
becoming certified at a specific rescue specialty level.
A person
certified at the General Requirement level will have demonstrated
competency in the necessary knowledge and skills, to advance to the
specialty areas.
